"Lithophyllum Sp.".
A calcium carbonate secreting , encrusting coralline algae / 'pink crust' / found on exposed
shores / extracts calcium from seawater / smooth pink or greyish pink crusts on rock , shells
and holdfasts / Occuring as linings to rock pools, often completely covering them , with the
exception of small bare circles , the resting places of limpets / May become bleached when
exposed to strong sunlight.
