An area that millions of years ago underwent erosion and was subsequently buried
under sediments but has been exposed by the effects of later erosion.
"Palaeokarst" is the term for a rock or area that has undergone the karst process
(the disolution of soluble rocks) and subsequently been buried under sediments.
