Foeldrygarn Cairns
Foeldrygarn Cairns

View passed the OS trig point on the middle Cairn , to the West - over the eastern
Cairn ( 22m diameter 1.7 to 2.9m high).
CADW - These Cairns are interpreted as Bronze Age burial cairns, massive communal
monuments covering the bones, or ashes, of one or several special individuals.
These cairns were never plundered for their stone, despite being surrounded by
hundreds of Iron Age houses .
It is possible however that these 3 cairns are contemporary with the fort, perhaps
acting as a focus for ritual or ceremonial activity.
